Sarah Warsop

Jeweller Choreographer Artist

Through jewellery, choreography and mark making Sarah investigates the complexities and characteristics of human movement. In metal, on paper, in performance, on film, she arrests time to reveal the intricacies of the moving body.

When choreographing Sarah makes her own notations from text to drive the rhythm and dynamic of the action. She works to contain these dynamic qualities within her jewellery to create wearable moments in time.

Sarah’s jewellery springs from a moment of choreography or music. Using a dynamic drawing process she captures the essence of movement and sound onto paper. From these drawings she works directly into gold and silver ensuring pace, flow and direction is held within the object. When working to commission each piece is created to hold within it a personal, dynamic story particular to each client.

On paper she explores how physicality and physical presence can be experienced through a drawing made by the human figure, and how the mark and the body’s physical & emotional state are inseparable.
